Can Lindy Handle Project File Searches and Data Retrieval?

·
·

Hola 🥏 Would Lindy be able to perform these functions? Are there any limitations I should be aware of?

  • Search through project files and folders to locate specific information, such as past project details, contacts, and costs.

  • Cross-check a spreadsheet that summarizes key project information to determine which folders to search first.

  • Open and extract details from emails and documents within those folders, even if file names aren’t clearly labeled.

  • Automate the retrieval of relevant data to streamline information gathering.

Lindy can definitely help with a lot of this, but there are a few things to keep in mind: searching through project files and folders – if your files are in google drive, notion, or dropbox, Lindy can search by keywords and metadata. it won’t “read” every document unless you tell it to, but it can pull up relevant files pretty fast. cross-checking a spreadsheet – if you’ve got a spreadsheet summarizing key info, Lindy can use that to prioritize where to look first. will need some good prompting though ⚠️ opening and extracting from emails & docs – generally works. but sounds like you’d like to use subfolders as a knowledge base aside from the actual knowledge base you already need in steps mentioned earlier. That wont work. However you can list the files in the folder and have an agent look through them based on names. automating retrieval – Lindy won’t fully “think” like a human across messy, unstructured data, but it can save a ton of time if the workflow is set up right. some considerations that came to mind:

    • File naming isn’t a concern for the Knowledge Base, but organization of your content matters

    • Pro users have a 20M character limit for Knowledge Base storage
