How to Add Knowledge to Your Knowledge Base Effectively

Hey, How do I add knowledge to the knowledge base, because if I do this in a action step, and then use an AI agent in a seperate path (same agent) and give him the skill to search the knowledge base, he doesn't know anything that is in there.
