Setting Up Find Available Times and Create Event Actions Correctly

·
·

Helloo! What's the accurate way to set up a Find Available Times action and Create Event action such that the first feeds into the second? I set up a Find Available Times action to only return times within a block titled as as "available for calls" (ss below) on my calendar, however, the event that the Lindy created is at a random time on my calendar outside of this! I tried to access the output (ss below) of the Find Available Times action in my Create Event action however this did not work! Any help is appreciated! (cc: Stephen T.)

Hey there! Thanks for sharing! I think the easiest way to show you is to share this template (Meeting Scheduler) with you. Also, here is a really good guide to help you out 🙂

Thanks so much! I see that this involves cc-ing Lindy's scheduler into the thread. Is there any way to get a Lindy's help with scheduling, without cc-ing them into the thread? I'm aiming to get a meeting scheduled (based on a block marked on my calendar as available for calls, still struggling with this one!), in my own voice!

Hmm I am sure there is but I am not understanding your use case yet. Can you expand on how exactly Lindy should be triggered by blocks in your calendar?

Hi, thanks! Here's some more context - I've created blocks on my calendar titled "available for calls". When a person emails me interested in a call (this would be my trigger), I want to use Lindy (ideally without cc-ing them in) to find the next available 30 minute slot within one of these blocks, create an event for it, and suggest this time to my emailer. I'm struggling to get Lindy to read my calendar accurately to only suggest times within the blocks that I've marked as available for calls.

ahh got it — that’s probably because it retrieves the calendar and considers times where there already is an event (your blocks) as not available. You’d rather want to use the Email received trigger + filter for the right emails and then find available time in your calendar + speficy what times the agent is supposed to use here. Does that make sense? lmk if this is helpful! 😄

ah, gotcha! thank you! just pushing on the blocks once more - would a prompt like the below under the Ignore Blocked Time option help in any way? Please note that I've also allowed scheduling conflicts (ss below) hoping that the Lindy is allowed to create an event within a block already marked off on my calendar. my availability is varied from day to day which is why i'm trying to have the Lindy read my calendar for the blocks that I mark instead of specifying times! lastly, if i were to specify times on the Lindy, would I do it on the find available times action, or under an AI agent action after that?

hmm no you’d want to set ignore blocked times to true

the prompt would go for example into an “Add Context” action or the Lindy settings
