Understanding AI Agent Skills and Context Management

How do 'skills' work for AI Agents? If I have a 'search knowledge base' node, and then an 'AI Agent' node immediately after, do i need to add 'Lindy Utilities > Add Context' to the agents skills? I thought it maintained context from the previous step(s)? There is also a skill for 'AI > Write' - but AI Agent can already write text? And still does without this skill added? Just unsure exactly what i need to add in the AI Agent skills field, or what their purpose are (other than taking actions with 3rd party integration)

Context is automatically maintained between nodes in your flow, so you don’t need to add a context skill (actually wonder why it’s there in the first place → checking in with the team on this) The AI Agent will have access to the results from the previous steps. The agent can also write text without adding the skill 🙂 I usually insert up to ~4-5 skills for third-party tools I want the agent to use if applicable

Awesome thanks for the info! Does the AI > Write tool help the agent write more longer form content? (or is this also a potentially redundant skill)

I had it write pretty long docs before — so I’d first try it without the skill → the better way to do this is actually to insert a write step before the agent so you don’t rely on the decision making of the agent where its not needed.
