I use the Lindy Record Meeting action...it works great for Google Meet and MS Teams. However, on Zoom, it is hit or miss based on the meeting host's recording settings. Zoom allows you to allow recording based on domain for external attendees. Is the Record Meeting action joining using the "lindy.ai" domain? Or is it something else?
Hey Tom! Hmm, I believe it doesn't use a domain as opposed to an integration system that joins the call. Are you able to send me a task URL for an example where it failed? Would be happy to take a look to see why it failed
There are other issues with Slack that I have to fix too, but here's the latest task that failed to join Zoom. It says it was denied permission, but the host was never offered an opportunity to grant permission. https://chat.lindy.ai/tom-duffys-workspace/lindy/jotbot-meeting-notetaker-67fe796ba9c3fb26677fbafc/tasks?task=6894f033bf7b2ed3f6202c01
Please don't change anything in there...just let me know if you see something. 🙂
Hey Tom! Just took a look -- It looks like in these instances, the Lindy bot is getting denied by the host to join the meeting. In these instances, do you know who the host is?
Yes, the host wasn't given any indication that the bot was requesting permission.
Hmm ok and has it ever successfully joined your Zoom meeting?
When it joins my meetings, it requests recording access and works. If someone else is the host (a co-worker) it doesn't work
Got it -- I'll have to attempt to reproduce this. Added to my cal to attempt right after my next meeting!
Any luck?
Hey Tom! Ah apologies -- I've been trying to look through Zoom's docs to see what I could find. A quick question -- When this issue happens, is it always happening with the same zoom host? Why I ask... I have a hunch that the zoom host clicked decline once and selected 'remember this option', so it continues to decline the lindy bot automatically
No. It happens with any zoom host that isn't me.
Very odd, I'm not able to reproduce this -- I just tested it with a personal email inviting my @lindy email, then got my Lindybot to join. I got prompted to accept it into the meeting 🤔
I'll continue seeing if I can repro this
The way we have this set up is we created a user with it's own Outlook calendar. We want our team members to be able to just invite that user to their meetings. The agent watches the Outlook calendar and joins calendar events that have a meeting link. Since that's different from how you're reproducing it, I thought I'd mention it.
Noted, thanks Tom! Our team is looking into this 🙏
