Hi Lindy community, I need some direction to build AI voice agent for my client (primary care clinic). This ai voice agent will handle incoming calls and support appointment management workflowv(create/update patient appointments). My client is using athena emr. How do i build this integration with lindy.ai voice agent which is integrated with athena emr in HIPPAA compliant way. Any guidance will be appreciated as this integration is critical for the use case i am implementing.
Hi salman a.! Exciting use case! While Lindy doesn’t have a native Athena integration today, you can connect your agent to Athena through their API and you can call that from Lindy using HTTP Request nodes inside your workflow. However, right now HIPAA compliance is only offered on our enterprise plans. If you're interested in that, please write to sales@lindy.ai
Hi Yaaj, I appreciate the response. I was wondering if i could accomplish this using RPA based integration. I could be completely offtrack, but i was thinking if we request a user account to be created in athena emr with access only to appointment and then have lindy.ai voice agent establish this athena connection using the credentials we created for this voice agent. is this a feasible approach ?
Hmmm, for customers we’ve worked with in the past who were just using the medical scribe tools, our advice was usually to copy the note and paste it directly into the EMR. The way to accomplish this is usually via Computer Use (this would let a Lindy agent interact with Athena’s web portal directly, similar to how a staff member might click through and manage appointments). If your client does require HIPAA compliance, that’s only available on our Enterprise plan with a BAA. In that case, our sales team would guide you through the process and build custom agents with you!
yaaj, i really appreciate your feedback. If we want to go computer use based integration then do we hard code these credentials in voice agent flow? The reason i am asking this question is due to this flow : Patient calls phone number for the clinic > Lindy.ai voice agent picks up the call > For appointments (create or update) londy ai agent would log in to athena web portal via computer use to retrive applicable data and schedule available for booking.
If you want to use computer use you’ll want to Configure your computer first. → add the start computer action → click on it → add a computer → use the configure button → login Once that’s done, your agent will preserve sessions and credentials.
I have a similar use case with Elation and DrChrono etc and hoping this approach will work in lieu of interfaceware's Iguana which is not insignificant when it comes to cost
Sammy, Thanks for adding your comment. Based on my research RPA integration is a valid approach but i am still not sure if this approach will be Hipaa compliant since we are not signing BAA.
